AUNT MARTHA'S COMPANY CASSEROLE | |
4 c. noodles 1 tbsp. butter 1 lb. ground beef 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce 1 c. cottage cheese 1/4 c. sour cream 1/3 c. minced onion 1 tbsp. minced green pepper 2 tsp. salt (or less) 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese Cook noodles as package directs, then drain. Saute meat in butter until browned. Stir in tomato sauce and part of the salt. Remove from heat and cool. Combine cottage cheese, sour cream, cream cheese, onion, pepper, and remainder of salt. This mixture may need to be warmed to make it blend well. Spread half of the noodles in a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish and cover with cheese mixture, then cover with remainder of noodles. Pour meat mixture over the entire dish. This can be heated in oven until hot or you can chill and/or freeze for a number of days. Always bake until it is completely heated through. |
