CHEDDAR CHOWDER POTATO SOUP 
2 c. water
1 c. potatoes, diced
1/2 c. carrots, diced
1/2 c. celery, diced
1/4 c. onions, chopped
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

WHITE SAUCE:

1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. flour
2 c. milk
2 c. grated Cheddar cheese
1 c. cubed ham

Combine water, potatoes, carrots, celery, onion, salt, and pepper in large kettle. Boil 10 to 12 minutes. Meanwhile in saucepan, make white sauce by melting butter. Add flour and stir until smooth (approximately 1 minute). Slowly add milk; cook until thickened. Add cheese; stir until melted. Add white sauce and ham to vegetables that have not been drained. Heat through. Serve with cornbread and salad.
