CRUMB CAKE 
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk
3 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. butter
1 egg, beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Sift together all dry ingredients then blend in shortening and egg and milk and vanilla to mixture. Set aside until crumbs are mixed then pour cake mixture in a greased pan (2 round 8" or 1 (9"x11") oblong) and bake 20 minutes to 1/2 hour at 350 degrees.

CRUMBS:

1 lb. butter, melted & cooled
4 c. sifted flour
2 c. sugar
Pinch of salt
2 tbsp. cinnamon

Mix all dry ingredients together and add melted butter. Use hands and mix gently so crumbs do not get hard. Roll into large crumbs by hand as this makes the best crumbs.
