EARL'S FAVORITE NUTROLL | |
1 c. walnuts or pecans, chopped 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. milk 2 tsp. vanilla In saucepan over medium heat, cook this mixture, stirring constantly, for about 10 minutes or until thick enough to spread. The mixture will thicken on standing. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Punch down dough and divide into 4 equal parts. Roll out in rectangle 1/4 inches thick. Spread each in 2/3 cup filling and roll up like a jelly roll. Place on greased baking sheet, seam-side down. Brush with 1/2 of a beaten egg. Cover and let rise in warm place free from draft for 30 minutes. Brush with remaining beaten egg. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) for about 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown. If browning too fast, place foil over rolls. When done, remove from baking sheets; cool. |
