2 qts. milk, scalded and cooled 2 c. melted shortening or oil 2 c. sugar 6 pkgs. dry yeast Flour 2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. baking soda 4 tbsp. baking powder Flour Combine milk, shortening or oil, sugar, and yeast. Add enough flour to make like pancake batter. Let rise 2 hours. Add salt, soda, baking powder and enough flour to make like biscuit dough. Roll out on floured board and cut into biscuits. Place on greased pans and place in freezer. When frozen, take off sheets and put in freezer bags. Bake at 450 degrees for 20 minutes. HINTS: Allow plenty of room to rise. Roll thinner than regular biscuits. Makes 8 dozen. |
