PORK AND CHICKEN ADOBO 
2 lb. chicken
1 lb. pork
1/2 c. white vinegar
1 1/2 c. water
1 whole garlic OR
10 cloves, crushed
10 peppercorns
2 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. salt
1 bay leaf
4 tbsp. cooking oil

Cut chicken and pork into serving pieces. Combine in a big casserole with vinegar, water, garlic, peppercorns, soy sauce, salt, and bay leaf. Cover and cook over moderate heat until chicken and pork are tender. Remove chicken, pork, and garlic; drain.

Fry garlic and meats in a skillet until brown. Return to the sauce in the casserole and stir well. Cook until sauce thickens. Serve either hot or cold.
