SAUSAGE STRATA | |
1 lb. sausage 1 tsp. onion salt 1/4 tsp. sage, optional 8 slices bread, crust removed 1 c. (4 oz.) Cheddar cheese, shredded 1 c. (4 oz.) Swiss cheese, shredded 3 eggs, slightly beaten 1 tsp. dry mustard 1 1/2 c. milk Lightly brown pork, onion salt and sage. Remove and drain. Cool. Place 4 slices of bread in bottom of 8 inch square baking dish. Sprinkle bread with Cheddar cheese. Add pork mixture. Sprinkle Swiss cheese over pork mixture, top with 4 slices of bread. Combine eggs, mustard and milk. Beat lightly. Pour over bread. Cover dish with foil. Refrigerate at least 2 hours or overnight. Bake at 325 degrees for 15 minutes, covered, 25-30 minutes uncovered or until set and toasty golden brown. 4-6 servings. For breakfast! |
