1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. flour
2 1/2 tbsp. water
1 c. chocolate chips

Cream shortening and sugars in mixer bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in egg. Add salt, soda, flour and water; mix well. Stir in chocolate chips.

Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 11 minutes or until light brown. Cool on cookie sheet.
