1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese or substitute with 4 oz. cream cheese & 4 oz. nonfat plain yogurt 2 1/3 c. sugar, divided 3 eggs 3/4 c. water 1/2 c. butter 2 (1 oz.) sq. each unsweetened chocolate 2 c. flour 1/2 c. sour cream (can substitute yogurt) 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces Combine softened cream cheese and 1/3 cup sugar in small mixing bowl. Add 1 egg; mix well and set aside. In medium saucepan combine water, butter and chocolate; bring to a boil until melted. Remove from heat and stir in remaining 2 cups sugar and flour. Add remaining 2 eggs, sour cream (or yogurt), baking soda and salt; mix well. Pour in a greased (or sprayed with Pam) 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 inch pan or casserole. Spoon the cream cheese mixture over chocolate batter. Cut through batter with knife several times for marble effect. Sprinkle with chocolate pieces. Bake at 375 degrees approximately 25 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool and cut into squares. |
