1 c. dates or raisins
1 c. nuts
2 squares chocolate or 3 tbsp. cocoa
3/4 c. mayonnaise
1 c. hot water
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Chop dates or raisins, add chocolate or cocoa and mayonnaise. Over this, pour hot water to which soda has been added. Combine all dry ingredients together and mix well with above mixture, add vanilla and chopped nuts last. Bake in 9x13 inch cake pan at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
