CONGO BARS 
2 3/4 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. melted shortening
2 1/4 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
1 c. nuts
1 c. chocolate chips

Sift together flour, soda and salt. Melt shortening. Add brown sugar and allow to cool slightly. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add flour mixture and nuts and chips. Bake for 20-30 minutes at 350 degrees in a greased jelly roll pan (10 1/2 x 15 1/2 x 3/4 inches).
