FUDGE BROWNIES 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. all-purpose flour
2 (1 oz.) chocolate squares
2 eggs or 3 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. walnuts (optional)

Cocoa powder and canola oil can be substituted to reduce fat; 6 tablespoons of cocoa powder and 2 tablespoons of oil.

Melt butter and chocolate in medium square pan. Remove from heat and stir in sugar. Blend eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla. Stir in flour and nuts; mix well. Pour in greased 8x8x2 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

This versatile brownie can be served as is or iced for a fancier dessert.
