CREAM OF BROCCOLI SOUP 
6 c. boiling water
10 oz. pkg. chopped broccoli
3/4 c. chopped onion
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. monosodium glutamate (accent)
1/8 tsp. white pepper
1 tsp. garlic powder
2 c. shredded cheese (not Mozzarella)
1 c. milk
1 c. heavy cream
1/4 c. butter
1/3 c. flour
1/2 c. cold water

In a 3 quart pan, bring 6 cups water to a boil. Add broccoli and onion. Boil for 10 to 12 minutes. Add seasonings and cheese, then add milk, cream and butter. Stir and heat to boiling. In a small bowl add cold water slowly to flour. Stir until smooth. Then slowly add this to hot mixture. Cook and stir until soup is like heavy cream. You could substitute asparagus on cauliflower for broccoli.
