GUM DROP FRUIT CAKE 
1-2 lb. gum drops (not black)
1 lb. raisins
1 c. butter
1 c. nuts
2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. applesauce
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda (dissolve in about a tbsp. of water)
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon

Cream butter and sugar; add eggs and mix. Add dry ingredients and applesauce and dissolved soda, gum drops, nuts, raisins and vanilla. Bake 2 hours at 300-350 degrees (or until done).
