2/3 c. butter
2 eggs
3/4 tsp. salt
2/3 c. milk
1 1/3 c. sugar
2 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy, add eggs, one at a time, beat well. Sift dry ingredients, add alternately with milk and vanilla. Do not overmix. Pour into greased loaf pan and bake in a 325 degree oven for 1 1/2 hours or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
