5 slices stale bread, diced with crusts 1/2 to 3/4 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated 4 beaten eggs 2 c. milk 1/4 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. sherry 1/4 tsp. dry mustard Butter a 2-quart casserole. Mix all ingredients except bread and cheese. Alternate layers of cheese and bread in casserole dish. Pour liquid over all. Gently mash in liquid. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes. Serves 6. |
