CHERRY CHEESE BARS 
2 c. flour
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 c. butter
1/2 c. rolled oats
1/2 tsp. vanilla

FILLING:

8 oz. cream cheese
1/3 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 can regular or light cherry pie filling

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cream butter, brown sugar and vanilla in a large bowl at medium speed of electric mixer until light and fluffy. Mix in flour and salt. Reserve 1/2 cup mixture. Press remaining mixture into ungreased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.

FILLING: Beat cream cheese, granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth. Spread over hot baked crust. Spread cherry pie filling over cream cheese.

TOPPING: Combine reserved mixture and oats mixing until crumbly. Sprinkle over filling. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes. Cool. Cut into bars 2 1/2 x 1 inch. 40 bars.
