CHOCOLATE NUT WAFERS 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 lg. egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 sq. (2 oz.) unsweetened chocolate, melted
3/4 c. flour
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. nuts, finely chopped

Mix together butter, sugar and egg, then blend in the vanilla and melted chocolate. Sift together the flour and salt. Gradually stir in the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture. Stir in nuts. This is a small recipe, I usually double or triple it.

Place a teaspoonful of cookie dough about 2 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Using the bottom of a glass, place a slightly dampened cloth over it and press the dough, forming flat rounds. Dip glass lightly in water when needed. Bake 10 to 12 minutes in a 325 degree oven. Cookie should be crisp and medium sized.
