CHOCOLATE CREAM WAFERS | |
2 1/4 c. flour 1/3 tsp. cinnamon 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tbsp. thin cream 1/2 c. shortening 1 c. sugar 2 eggs 3 sq. unsweetened chocolate, melted Sift flour once; measure. Add cinnamon, baking powder and soda and sift three times. Cream shortening thoroughly. Add sugar gradually and cream together until light and fluffy. Add eggs, chocolate and cream and beat well. Add flour, a little at a time. Beat after each addition until smooth. Roll into thin sheet on lightly floured board. Cut with cookie cutter (I use a small glass so the cookies won't be too big), and bake in a 350 degree oven 6 minutes. Put together with butter frosting, or bought canned frosting. I prefer bought. These were my favorite cookies when I was a child, and I still eat too many when I bake them! |
