ANGEL FLAKE BISCUITS | |
1 pkg. dry yeast 3 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt 2 c. buttermilk 3/4 c. shortening or 1/2 c. oil 5 c. flour 1 tbsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda Mix yeast, buttermilk, sugar and salt. Set aside. Combine flour, baking powder and soda. Cut in shortening. Add liquid and mix lightly. Do not knead. Refrigerate. Pinch off amount needed. Knead. Roll on floured board. Cut and bake. Do not allow to rise. Bake 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Will keep in refrigerator for approximately a week. Can also be used to make cinnamon rolls. |
