PICKLED VEGETABLES 
2 qts. water to 1 qt. vinegar
2/3 c. salt
Turmeric for color (about 1 tsp. per qt.)

Bring to a boil. Place in jars, any kind of raw vegetables: Green or yellow beans, carrots, celery, cauliflower, green tomatoes (quartered), sliced onions or real small whole radishes, green peppers, 1 clove garlic, sliced per quart. 1/2 to 1 hot pepper can be added to taste. Cold pack and add vinegar mixture. Process 5 minutes. Let set 2 months before eating. A good way to clean out the garden.
