GARLIC/ONION SMOTHERED PORK
CHOPS
 
6 (6 to 8 oz.) loin cut pork chops (3/4 to 1 inch thick)
4 lg. onions, cut in julienne strips
4 oz. corn or sunflower seed oil
1 qt. brown gravy mix
4 oz. water
2 tbsp. granular garlic (or 8 fresh cloves)
Fresh ground pepper, salt

Heat oil in skillet. Sear pork chops on both sides until dark brown. Remove and place in baking pan. Brown onions in skillet. Add water and gravy. Bring to boil. Pour gravy over pork chops. Add garlic, salt and pepper to taste. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour, until tender (meat should pull away from bone). Serves 6. (NOTE: Can be cooked on top of stove in skillet, also).
