MOM'S CHRISTMAS PUDDING 
1 c. candied fruit
1 c. sugar
1 c. currants
1 c. raisins
1/2 lb. suet
1 egg
1 tsp. baking soda
Pinch salt
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. allspice
1 tbsp. molasses
2 c. milk
Flour to stir stiff, about 4 - 4 1/2 c.

Damp wet cloth. Put on table. Sprinkle with currants where the pudding is going to lay. Pour pudding and tie loose. Put in boiling water and cook 2 1/2 - 3 hours.

PUDDING DIP:

3 tbsp. flour or cornstarch
3 tbsp. sugar

Thicken with boiling water. Add vanilla, salt and nutmeg to taste.
