PEPPER STEAK 
1 1/2 lbs. round steak
2 tbsp. oil
2 tbsp. flour
1/4 c. tomato sauce
1 1/2 c. water
1/4 c. soy sauce
2 med. onions, sliced
1 can drained mushrooms or 3/4 c. sliced, fresh mushrooms
2 to 3 green peppers
2 tbsp. cornstarch
Little water

Cut meat into small strips. Dredge in flour and brown in hot oil. In same pan, add tomato sauce, water, soy sauce and onions. Simmer 1 1/4 hours.

10 to 15 minutes before serving add sliced green pepper and mushrooms. Thicken with cornstarch mixed in a little water. Serve over rice or crisp Chinese noodles.
