APPLE CHEDDAR BREAD 
2 c. flour
2/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. shredded unpeeled apple
1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 c. walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, soda, salt, shortening and eggs. Mix with electric mixer at low speed until blended. Stir in shredded apple, Cheddar cheese and chopped nuts; mix well. Turn into pan. Bake for 50-60 minutes.
