4 HOUR YEAST ROLLS | |
issolve: 2 pkg. yeast in 1/4 c. lukewarm water dd: 1 tsp. sugar our: 1 c. boiling water over 2 heaping tbsp. shortening 1/2 c. sugar 1 tbsp. salt rounding full dd: 1 c. cold water When lukewarm add yeast mixture and 2 well beaten eggs and 8 cups bread flour. The first 5 or 6 cups of flour can be mixed with beater, adding remaining flour by hand. Let rise, covered, in a warm place for about 2 hours. Punch down. Form in cloverleaf, plain or any shape. Can be used for cinnamon rolls or any form desired. Let raise until double. Bake at 375 degrees for 18 or 20 minutes until golden brown. Makes 2 dozen. |
