1 can whole beets

Drain beets, should yield 1 cup liquid if it doesn't add water.

1/2 c. vinegar
1 c. sugar

Bring to a boil, add 1 stick cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon whole cloves, salt and pepper. Pour over beets and let cool before serving.
