CHILI 
2 lb. ground beef
2 tbsp. shortening
2 c. onions, chopped
1 c. green peppers, chopped
2 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. chili powder
2 tbsp. flour
1 can (15 oz.) whole tomatoes (without juice, broken up)
1 c. water or juice from tomatoes in can
1 can green chili salsa (7 oz.)
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
3/4 bottle med. size catsup
4 c. dark kidney beans, drained (optional)

Fry beef until brown. Drain. Heat shortening in saucepan. Add onions, green peppers, salt and beef. Cook slowly for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in chili powder, flour, tomatoes, water, green chili salsa, tomato sauce and catsup. Cover and cook over low heat for at least 2 hours, stirring occasionally and adding water when necessary.) Add beans if desired. (This recipe is doubled.)
