OLD FASHIONED RAISIN SQUARES | |
1 (16 oz.) pkg. seedless raisins 2 c. water 1/3 c. brown sugar 2 tbsp. cornstarch 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1 tbsp. butter 1 tbsp. vinegar Triple recipe pie crust dough Boil raisins in 2 cups of water for 5 minutes. Add the rest of the ingredients. Cook until thickened and then cool. Make the triple recipe of pie crust dough. Divide in half. Roll half out to cover cookie sheet (with sides) and spread with raisin mixture. Roll out remaining half of dough and cover raisins. Pinch edges to seal. Prick the top with a fork. Brush with milk and sprinkle with a little sugar. Bake at 450 degrees for 15 minutes and then at 375 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool before cutting into squares. |
