SALSA - CALIFORNIA STYLE 
2 cans whole tomatoes, chopped
1 lg. onion, chopped
6 whole Ortega green chiles, diced
2 or 3 cloves garlic, chopped
2 tbsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. vegetable oil
Salt
Pepper

Mix all ingredients together in a glass bowl (do not use aluminum). Let stand at least 1 hour before serving. Best when refrigerated overnight. Serve with salted tortilla chips.
