REUBEN PIE
1 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 c. rolled oats
1 egg
1/4 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. low-calories Thousand Island dressing
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 (16 oz.) can sauerkraut, drained and rinsed
1 tsp. caraway seed
3/4 c. (3 oz.) shredded Swiss cheese

Combine ground beef, rolled oats, egg, onion, dressing, salts, and pepper in large bowl; mix well. Press mixture into bottom and up sides of 9-inch microwave-safe pie plate.

Microwave (high), uncovered, 5 to 6 minutes or until meat is set and no longer pink. Rotating pie plate once. Absorb extra juices with paper toweling. Combine sauerkraut, caraway, and cheese. Spoon into meat spreading evenly.

Microwave (high), uncovered, 4 to 5 minutes or until cheese is melted. Let stand 5 minutes before cutting into wedges for serving.

If calories are not a concern, increase the cheese to 1 1/2 to 2 cups.

Ground beef forms the easy crust for this main dish pie. The filling features sauerkraut and Swiss cheese with a sprinkling of caraway.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
