SWISS GREEN BEANS | |
1/4 c. butter 1/2 c. corn flake crumbs 2 tbsp. flour 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/4 tsp. instant minced onion 1 tsp. sugar 8 oz. sour cream 2 cans (4 c.) green beans 2 c. shredded Swiss or Monterey Jack cheese Melt 2 tablespoons butter (oleo) in small pan. Remove from heat and add corn flake crumbs. Mix and set aside. Melt remaining 2 tablespoons butter in large pan on low heat. Stir in flour, salt, pepper, onion and sugar. Add sour cream and stir well until smooth. Turn heat to medium and cook until sauce is bubbly and thickened, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and fold in green beans. Spread in greased 10"x6"x2" pan. Sprinkle with cheese, then crumb mixture. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Other vegetables may be substituted. |
