POWDERED SUGAR COOKIES 
1 lb. butter
1 egg
6 c. sifted flour
3/4 c. ground walnuts
1/4 c. powdered sugar
1 tip of vanilla (bottle)

STEP 1: Melt butter, bring to a boil and skim. Boil for 1 more minute. Put in bowl, allow salt left in pan to stay (allow to cool). Add powdered sugar and egg, cream for 2 minutes, add vanilla then add flour gradually. Dough should be crumbly but smooth. Add nuts. Pat small amount out. Cut with a whisky glass. Can be baked close together, they do not rise. Bake at 400 degrees until golden brown.

STEP 2: Put powdered sugar in bowl and carefully roll each cookie in the powdered sugar (better if cookie is hot) arrange on platter and sprinkle with more powdered sugar.
