2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. shortening
1 heaping tbsp. baking powder
Flour enough to make a soft dough
2/3 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 level tsp. baking soda

Mix ingredients. Add enough flour to make a soft dough. Roll out on floured board and cut into desired shapes. Place on greased cookie sheet and cook at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
