TOASTED BUTTERSCOTCH CREAM
COOKIES
 
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sour cream
3/4 c. chopped walnuts

Cream butter and sugar. Add vanilla and eggs and beat until fluffy. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture together with sour cream. Mix thoroughly with sour cream. Mix thoroughly. Add nuts. Chill a few hours. Drop by spoonful. Bake at 400 degrees 10 to 12 minutes.

FROSTING:

Brown 6 tablespoons butter over low heat. Add 3 cups powdered sugar, 1/4 cup hot water and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat well. Frost cookies.
