BROWN SUGAR BROWNIES 
1 1/3 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt
1 egg
1/2 c. butter
1 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1/2 c. walnuts, optional

Sift flour, baking powder and salt together in small bowl; set aside. In separate bowl, cream butter, egg, sugar and flavoring until smooth. Blend in dry ingredients with mixture; add nuts. Spread in a well greased 9 inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until golden brown. Let cool and cut in squares.
