NEW TWIST APPLE TURNOVERS 
1 lb. butter
4 c. plain flour
2 c. creamed cottage cheese
2 tsp. sugar
3 tbsp. lemon juice
8 c. finely chopped apples
1 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
6 tbsp. sugar
3 3/4 c. confectioners sugar
3 tbsp. butter
4 1/2 tbsp. milk

1. Mix first 4 ingredients well.

2. Wrap in wax paper.

3. Chill overnight

4. Mix lemon juice, apples, spices and sugar (next 5 ingredients) for filling; set aside.

5. Roll out chilled dough real thin.

6. Cut in squares, 4 at a time, the approximate size to fold over filling to make turnovers.

7. Fill squares with filling, leaving enough space to seal edges with fork.

8. Place on cookie sheets with some space between.

9. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes or until puffed and browned.

10. Make confectioners sugar glaze by heating milk and butter together, then stir in sugar. Drizzle over turnovers when cooled in attractive pattern. Enjoy a wonderful new taste in turnover pastry.
