QUICK, CANDIED YAMS 
4 lg. yams
3 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. dark corn syrup
Salt

Peel yams and slice carrots in 1/4 inch pieces. Melt butter in skillet. Lightly brown sliced yams in hot fat. When browned, sprinkle with salt and pour corn syrup over slices. Cover tightly and cook slowly for 10 minutes.
