SODA BISCUITS
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. shortening
3/4 c. sour milk or buttermilk

Sift flour, soda, salt, rub and cut shortening into dry ingredients until fine as cornmeal. Add 3/4 cup sour milk, enough to make a soft dough. Turn onto floured board, knead slightly. Roll 1/2 inch thick and cut with floured biscuit cutter. Prick with fork. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 475 degrees.
