SODA BISCUITS 
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. plus tbsp. shortening
3/4 to 1 c. sour milk

Combine flour, baking powder, soda and salt; cut in shortening with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add milk, stir until blended well.

Turn dough out onto a lightly floured board and knead lightly about 20 seconds. Pat dough to 1/2 inch, cut into rounds. Bake at 450 for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 1 dozen.
