HAM, BLACK BEAN AND RICE SALAD 
1 (15 oz.) can black beans, drained
3 tbsp. onions, finely chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
1/4 tsp. garlic salt
2 c. cold cooked rice
1/2 medium green bell pepper, chopped
2 c. fully cooked smoked ham, cut into 1/2-inch cubes

Mix beans, onion, celery and garlic salt. Mix rice and bell pepper. Arrange bean mixture, rice mixture and ham on a serving plate. Serve with Snappy Dressing (see below).

Snappy Dressing:

1/2 c. mayonnaise or salad dressing
1/4 c. ketchup
1/4 tsp. ground cumin
1/4 tsp. aromatic bitters

Mix all ingredients.

I didn't have all the ingredients needed for the full recipe but I must say, it was still awesome. I am working on eating more healthy and the taste of the snappy dressing without the cumin and aromatic bitters was still,off the charts. What I did was, I used olive oil to lightly brown the cut ham. Added a sprinkle of basil in the olive oil till it flavored the olive oil then stirred it up with the ham and sprinkled with garlic salt. I cooked the rice and added the already cooked black beans in a separate pot. Then after I cooked the ham mixture for about 5 minutes, I poured it into the rice and bean mix. I would of added more ingredients if I had them, but I looked online to see what I could do with what I had in the kitchen. Thank you so much for sharing your recipe. I tried a bit of it with barbeque sauce mixed with mayonnaise but it didn't taste as good as the mayonnaise and ketchup.
