CHILI SAUCE 
2 dozen tomatoes
1/2 c. sugar
3 green peppers
3 onions
2 tbsp. salt
1 tbsp. each cloves, nutmeg, ginger, and allspice
1 pt. vinegar or lemon juice

Scald and peel tomatoes and cut small. Seed and chop peppers and chop onions. Combine with all remaining ingredients and cook very slowly, stirring often, until thick (or the consistency you desire). Turn into sterilized jars and seal.
