"NEVER FAIL" ICE BOX ROLLS 
1 pkg. dry yeast
2 tbsp. warm water
1/2 c. melted shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. cold water
2 eggs, well beaten
5 c. plain flour
Melted butter

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Melt shortening over boiling water; then mix shortening with sugar and salt in a large mixing bowl. Add hot water and mix well. Add cold water and mix well. Add well beaten eggs and the yeast mixture.

Gradually add flour, mixing well after each addition. Place this mixture in tightly covered container, and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight before using. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Make out rolls on a floured board, and dip each roll in melted butter. Let rolls rise at room temperature for 2-3 hours before baking.
