PICKLED FIGS 
1 c. water
6 c. sugar
1 c. cider vinegar
Whole spices, cloves, stick of cinnamon
1 1/4 oz. pickling spices (in sm. cheesecloth bag)

Make syrup of water, sugar and cider vinegar.

To prepare figs, cover 3 quarts figs with 2 quarts boiling water and allow to stand for 5 minutes. Drain figs. Boil in syrup for 3 days, 10 minutes each day. Pack into sterilized jars; adjust lids and process in boiling water bath for 10 minutes or process for 10 minutes in pressure cooker.
