FIG PICKLE 
Cover 3 quarts figs with 2 quarts boiling water and let stand 5 minutes. Make syrup of 1 cup water and 6 cups sugar, 1 cup vinegar and 2 tablespoons pickling spice tied in bag, 2 sticks cinnamon. Drain figs and boil in the syrup for 3 consecutive mornings 10 minutes each morning. The third morning pack in hot jars and seal. These are very good and usually are a good conversation piece.
