BOW TIES 
8 egg yolks
1/4 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. sugar
1 c. sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking powder
4 c. flour
Shortening for frying

Combine egg yolks, salt and sugar. Beat with mixer until lemon colored. Add sour cream and vanilla; beat 2 minutes. Add baking powder and flour, one cup a time. Knead dough on floured board 15 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes, roll out on floured board 1/2 inch thick, cut in strips 2 x 4 inches.

Make 1 inch slit in center lengthwise and pull one end through slit. Fry in shortening until golden brown. Drain, sprinkle with powdered sugar. Yield 90.
