BLACK WALNUT POUND CAKE 
1/2 lb. butter
1/2 c. Crisco
5 eggs
3 c. plain flour
3 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. black walnut flavoring
1 c. evaporated milk
1 c. chopped black walnuts
1 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt

Cream butter, shortening and flour until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time; beat well. Mix 1/4 cup flour with nuts. Sift remaining flour and baking powder. Add alternately milk and flour. Add floured nuts. Fold in. Bake in tube pan which has been well greased and floured at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
