BAR-B-Q BRISKET | |
3 lbs. beef brisket, fat trimmed 1 c. simmered broth 2 sm. cans tomato sauce 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 tsp. celery seed 1 tbsp. cider vinegar 3 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. dry mustard Place brisket in Dutch oven or large pan, cover with water and simmer 2 hours. Cool and slice diagonally in 1/8 inch slices. Mix remaining ingredients in heavy saucepan. Simmer until heated through. Place meat in 9 x 13 inch pan, in layers if necessary. Pour sauce over meat. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. This can be prepared the day before company and just baked 1 1/2 hours before serving time. |
