WALDORF SALAD 
2 c. Jonathan apples, chopped
1/4 c. raisins
1 c. diced celery
1/2 c. coarsely broken walnuts
1/2 c. apple cider or other juice
2 tbsp. vinegar
1/4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. flour
Dash of salt
1 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. sour cream or yogurt or whipped cream

Combine apples, raisins, celery and walnuts. To make dressing, heat cider with vinegar until boiling. Mix flour, sugar, salt in small bowl. Add to hot mixture, stirring constantly until thick. Add butter, let cool. Add sour cream or yogurt or whipped cream. Pour over fruit and chill. Serve on lettuce leaf.
