FRIENDLY BLUEGRASS MUSIC CAKE 
4 c. flour -- Doghouse Base
2 c. sugar -- Guitars
3 eggs -- Banjo's
3 c. milk -- Fiddle's
1 1/4 c. chopped nuts -- Mandolin's
1 c. flaked coconut -- Dobro's
1/2 c. chopped maraschino cherries - Huggin & Kissin
2 tsp. baking powder -- Jammin
1/2 tsp. baking soda -- Comedy
1/2 tsp. salt -- Visitin
1 c. butter -- Eatin
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla -- Sleepin

Combine butter, sugar, eggs, cherries, milk, vanilla and mix well. Set aside. Combine flour, coconut, nuts, baking powder, soda, salt and add to first mixture. Beat with mixer on high speed until well mixed.

Pour in tube pan sprayed with Baker's Joy. Bake at 250 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or until toothpick comes out clean when inserted in cake. Remove from pan. Cool. Ice with the following or use your own favorite icing.

CHERRY JUICE ICING:

3 c. powdered sugar
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
5 tbsp. cherry juice

CHERRY JUICE GLAZE:

2 c. powdered sugar
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
4 tbsp. cherry juice

Ice cake with icing and top with alternate: cherries and pecan halves -6 cherries - 6 pecan halves. Let glaze run down the sides. Sprinkle chopped nuts around top of cake or just leave plain.

This looks terrible when it starts to bake, but be patient and it will turn out alright.
